Building a basketball legacy before first tip-off

We've had to find creative ways to keep the community engaged in the lead up to May. It's been about building anticipation, creating moments that feel meaningful and establishing an identity before the first whistle even blows.

I'm most proud of all the early moments that made the Tempo feel real since I joined the organization. Even though I wasn't around when the team and brand initially launched, I've been there for major milestones – announcing our Head Coach, revealing our two out-of-market Canada games and unveiling our jersey. 

It's an amazing feeling knowing that I've played a part in helping fans connect to the team before a roster even existed. Seeing people respond emotionally to something we built from scratch has been incredibly rewarding.

More than a game

My approach to storytelling for women's basketball in Canada is telling authentic stories that reflect the rostered players, front office and the Tempo staff as a whole. We have a really unique opportunity being the only Canadian WNBA team to make these players household names As the world of women's basketball rises in Canada, we hope we can inspire a new generation of fans

My goal in this role is to be a top content team in the WNBA and also have our players and overall organization trust my vision when it comes to telling real and authentic stories. Building trust with the players makes or breaks any content team.

My experience over the years, especially working with Uninterrupted Canada, an athlete-empowerment platform, has really opened my eyes to authentic storytelling. Their motif – "More Than an Athlete" – also resonates deeply with how I approach my work for the Tempo. Women's sport, specifically basketball within Canada, has always been here, and it's truly amazing to see it getting the recognition and spotlight it deserves.

What's next

Looking ahead, I'm energized by what's coming. 

The Expansion Draft, free agency, the WNBA Draft and eventually our first game are massive moments. Each one is an opportunity to capture history in real time and continue building a connection with fans who are experiencing this alongside us. 

I'm excited for our front office staff to build out our opening day roster, and I get excited to learn about their stories and show them in the best light possible – both on and off the court.

If I had to tell my own story, I'd describe it as one rooted in consistency and evolution. Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve documented my journey through social media – whether reviewing hockey equipment on YouTube, posting social media graphics on Facebook and X, or getting picked up by major outlets because of my photography. 

My success didn't happen overnight. It's apparent in the work, in the progression, in the steady build.

Every role and project has sharpened my ability to understand audiences, platforms and moments that matter. 

Being part of the Toronto Tempo feels like a natural extension of that journey, bringing years of hands-on experience into a role where I'm helping define a brand from day one.
