I can vividly remember being in the third grade, daydreaming about becoming a sports commentator.
Today, I'm the manager of content marketing for the Toronto Tempo, Canada's first WNBA franchise, and my role sits at the intersection of storytelling, design and fandom. I’m helping to shape how the team shows up visually and emotionally as we introduce the WNBA to Canada.
Since graduating from TMU in 2018, I've worked within the sports space in Toronto, carving out a name for myself along the way.
Over the years, I've captured hundreds of sporting events and created content for a wide range of platforms and organizations – from leagues like the NHL and MLB to working directly with athletes. I'm no stranger to the world of storytelling in the professional sports space.
When the opportunity came up to help launch Canada's first WNBA franchise, it was a no-brainer for me to throw my hat in the ring. Being able to capture and document the inception of the franchise is something I don't take lightly, and it's something I'm incredibly proud to be part of as it unfolds over the next few months and in the years to come.
Storytelling before we hit the court
I joined the team in June 2025, and our first game isn't until May 2026.
That timeline has presented us with a unique challenge: how do you tell a team's story before you even have players? How do you build fandom around jerseys without bodies to fill them?
Together with our social media manager, I'm responsible for how the Tempo shows up on digital and social platforms. The work has been foundational – everything from social-first graphics to behind-the-scenes video and photo content, plus overall documentation of the lead-up to tip-off.
I've had the pleasure of launching the team's first-ever jersey, our head coaching announcement, the content rollout of our schedule release and creating community content all across Canada.
